Learn how to program with our workshops and bring your ideas to life at MCST's 10th annual Hackathon!
Students become hackers, and allow their imaginations to guide them to develop an idea - possibly their own
computer app, video game, network or website. Teams of students work collaboratively to make these ideas come to fruition. Judges will determine who has the best "hack."
The Hackathon is free and is open to all area students in grades 7 - 12. No coding experience is needed to sign up!
Remember to bring your own technology! It will not be provided by MCST.
Participants must currently be in grades 7 to 12.
My Hackathon experience was nothing short of amazing! My favorite parts were the collaboration between me and teammates, seeing the end result of our project, and how enjoyable the environment is. hackMCST is the best and I definitely recommend joining! - Yashi
I remember seeing so many kids working on so many creative and unique projects. It was amazing to see others who enjoyed computer science and to see what others could come up with was just amazing. That experience made me realize how cool computer science could be and what I could do with it. - Afnan

Our team of sophomores placed 1st in hackMCST 2023 under the Artificial Intelligence category. For our project, we hacked together a simple AI audio transcripter tool, precise down to the millisecond, that could be applied for audio editing purposes, to solve the problem of having to listen to audio snippets over and over to know where to cut. This was an overall very fun event, there were snacks and lots of food, and it was fun hanging out with my friends. This event is not just about coding, it is about presentation skills, communication skills, and overall creativity. - Mihir
